We joined Better Cotton in 2021. Together, we are committed to improving cotton farming practices globally. The percentage of Better Cotton in our socks is increasing year on year.
We removed plastic hooks from the Hysteria range in 2022 and the Kids range in 2020. We are working on removing them altogether with a new paper hook on the label instead. That’s a lot less plastic!
Plastic windows were removed from gift sets in the US and mailer bags are now made from recycled plastic. Individually these steps are small, but together they save a few tonnes of single use plastics every year.
Since 2018, our Kids Range has been made from organic cotton: better for the planet, and better for their little feet. More and more of our adult styles are made from organic cotton too, check out the labels/product descriptions to see which ones!
Our swim shorts are made from 100% recycled polyester: a light & durable material that has been diverted from becoming waste and given a second life.
We increased the share of products that contain traceable recycled or other sustainably sourced materials from 12% in 2020, to 24% in 2021.
We continued working with our many partners who help to make the world a happier place, raising nearly 1.5 million SEK for charities including InterPride, Swedish Save the Children, the World Health Organization, and the Swedish Down Syndrome Association.
We have increased the previous part-time Sustainability Lead role to a full time and senior level Sustainability Manager who will join Happy Socks in 2022.
In 2021 we switched to a new shipping carrier with less carbon emissions. Customers will also get a better shipping experience. Win!
26% of the cotton we used was organic cotton and 11% of the cotton we used was Better Cotton, so we are a third of the way towards our goal for 2025. Great progress!
Looking after your socks with care is the key to making them last longer.
